Topic: Just been thinking
anochecer
I have just been looking at a forum post on another site, that I am a member of, and it has got me thinking.

How many models who say that they are serious about modelling, and have listed Runway and Fashion, as work types.  Realise that Fashion and 'High Fashion' can involve see-through on occasions, even partial nudity?

Any model wishing to take modelling seriously needs to consider whether these factors are an issue for them.

'Real-world' fashion modelling beyond the part-time/amateur 'scene' is quite different to what many put as 'fashion' levels in their portfolio blurb here.

I see where your coming from as models or for that matter togs have there levels set. Yes fashion can be seen as part nude or see through but I'm sure if the time came when things got more serious then they may do it.

But if they where building there reputation up I think they would be more happy to "Control there levels to non nude or non see through" then again not all fashion or catwalks contain some sort of nude.

Also we have to look at it as there a lot of young models out there that have not decided what to do in the life's yet i.e. some could be training to be a nurse or something like it and the last thing they want is nude images coming to haunt them when it comes down to getting the job. As we have seen on forum post all over the place but to me what has that got do with it! We all have a private life but work places have to know what you been up to in your life. But it's the way it is I can't see where nude has anything to do with whatever job you do!

But if the model was very serious in doing modelling full time maybe they just want to build up there confidence first before concidering doing naked fashion or see through. But there also there paranoid husbands and boyfriends to take on board.

This just myside of things I see it but I'm sure there will be others that will have a different views of things.

To me I be happy to work to whatever level thay like to work too. To me it's there body and they can do whatever they say about it.

Very good points by all. In my experience when trying to get signed by an agency, lots of them seem to say that they would prefer it if a model hasnt done any nude or erotic images or have any in their portfolio.

Lots of fashion and runway involves more 'risque' clothing these days as people try to push the boundaries to get noticed.
Although I have never done any nude or even implied work, if I get to the stage of becoming a full time professional model I would hope that I would have the confidence to do what I was being paid for!

I think that you cant be to naive in this industry to think that no one is ever going to see you in the buff here and there, but I understand some peoples feelings that they dont want the images fromthe past possibly 'biting them in the backside'!

Okay so im sitting on the fence a bit here, but I hope my gabbling makes some sense!!!

In fact, you're not "sitting on the fence", you have actually answered the question posed at the start of this thread by stating that you have taken the issue of nudity into account and shown that you have a balanced view on the matter.
